Sometimes a premise sounds so delightfully unhinged that you just have to see if the book can pull it off, and All Too Reel absolutely does.
Raina is an aspiring actress paying the bills as a barista when she accidentally drenches a stranger in iced Americano, only to discover he is one of the world's most eligible princes. Before she can even apologize, Kostas drops to one knee with an offer she can barely process: pose as his wife for a year and walk away with a diamond ring, five million dollars, and the career boost of a lifetime. It is a fake marriage deal wrapped in a royal meet-cute, and Nicole Lam commits to the chaos with real charm.
The dual POV is where this book genuinely shines. Watching Kostas slowly reckon with the fact that his feelings are anything but contractual is deeply sweet, and Lam earns every swoony moment of the slow burn without rushing the emotional payoff. As a writer who works exclusively in clean and Christian romance, she brings a warmth and sincerity to the story that keeps it grounded even when the plot leans fully into its fairy-tale logic.
The bones are familiar, no question, but familiar done well is still a pleasure. There is real grief woven into the story that gives both characters unexpected depth, and the faith elements feel organic rather than heavy-handed. If you are in the mood for a breezy royal romance with genuine heart and a hero who falls beautifully and helplessly first, this one is well worth your afternoon.
Not a 5-star read for me, but a rating is just one reader's experience. If the tropes above are your thing, this could be exactly what you're looking for. I'd rather share it than gatekeep it.
