Sometimes you just need a book that feels like a warm afternoon on a porch swing, and that is exactly what Giddy Up, Gorgeous delivers.

Set in the small-town rodeo world of Wyoming, this clean Christian romance follows a grumpy cowboy whose carefully ordered life gets a little upended by a bright, sunny heroine who simply refuses to be ignored. Cassandra Joelle keeps things light and wholesome, with a quiet thread of faith woven naturally through the story rather than feeling tacked on.

What this book does really well is commit fully to its own vibe. There is no identity crisis here, no awkward tonal shifts. Joelle knows exactly what kind of story she is telling and she tells it with confidence. The grumpy-sunshine dynamic has plenty of charm, and the Wyoming setting feels lived-in and genuine rather than just decorative.

That said, a three-star rating feels right because this is comfort reading rather than something that will knock your socks off. The characters are likable but do not quite push beyond familiar types, and the story hits its beats in a way that feels a little predictable by the midpoint. For readers who love this genre, that is not necessarily a problem at all.

If you are looking for a cosy, no-spice read you can finish in a single afternoon with a cup of tea, this is a genuinely solid pick. Joelle has a whole catalogue in this vein, and Giddy Up, Gorgeous is a welcoming entry point into her world.
